Does Chorducate recognize chord names?
Yes, Chorducate automatically recognizes chord names and scale patterns as you draw on the fretboard.
How it works
As you add notes to a fretboard diagram, Chorducate uses music theory to identify what you're creating. It will display:
- Chord names — Major, minor, 7th, extended chords, and more
- Scale patterns — Major, minor, pentatonic, modes, etc.
Why this matters
- Verify accuracy — Make sure your diagrams are correct before sharing
- Learn music theory — See how notes combine to form chords
- Discover alternatives — Find different voicings for the same chord
- Name unfamiliar shapes — Identify chords you discover by ear
What it recognizes
Chorducate can identify:
- Triads (major, minor, diminished, augmented)
- Seventh chords (maj7, min7, dom7, dim7, etc.)
- Extended chords (9th, 11th, 13th)
- Suspended chords (sus2, sus4)
- Add chords (add9, add11)
- Altered chords
- Common scale patterns
The recognition works in real-time as you create your diagrams.
