Why I Built Chorducate, and What's Next
Most fretboard diagram tools feel like software from 2005. We set out to fix that.

Why I Built Chorducate, and What's Next
Why Guitar Teachers Need Better Diagram Tools
Guitar teachers have been stuck with the same workflow for decades: dig through folders of PDFs, print a diagram, scribble on it with a pen, make a mistake, white it out, photocopy the corrected version, file it away. Repeat.
Online tools haven’t changed much either. Many fretboard diagram tools have clunky interfaces, rigid templates, and often lack the ability to arrange multiple diagrams or add annotations. You often resort to screenshots, which is a pain if you want your work to look professional.
A Free Fretboard Diagram Maker That Actually Works
Chorducate is a fretboard diagram tool that works like a modern design app. Drag fretboards onto an infinite canvas. Add markers, labels, text, images - even YouTube and Spotify content. Arrange everything exactly how you want. Export clean PNGs or SVGs.
Teachers use it to build lesson materials. Students use it to visualise what they're learning. Content creators use it to make diagrams for videos and social posts.
Create Guitar Chord Diagrams in Seconds

- No account needed - Start creating immediately. Your work saves locally
Upcoming Features for Guitar Teachers and Creators
We're working on features that power users keep asking for:
- Cloud autosave - Access your work across devices
- Folders and multiple auto-saved whiteboards - Organise lessons, songs, and practice routines separately
- Scale libraries, alternate tunings - A library of premade content to help you save even more time
This current version is free and some version of it always will be. Additional features will be available soon for teachers and creators who need more.
If this excites you or you have any ideas or feedback on things you'd like to see in Chorducate, please let us know on Discord or Reddit .
Independent and Self-Funded
Chorducate is bootstrapped. Just me and a friend, building something useful.
The canvas technology, tldraw, that makes Chorducate feel so good, requires a commercial license to take it to the next level. If you've found the tool useful and want to support its development, donations help us validate the idea and fund the purchase of the commercial license.
Support Chorducate
